“Sometimes writing is running downhill, your fingers jerking behind you on the keyboard the way your legs do when they can’t quite keep up with gravity.” ― Rainbow Rowell, Fangirl
That is basically how blogging is as well.
Okay, so TAG TIME. I don’t think I’ve done a tag in a while so I thought I would wack one out tonight as I am waiting for the Critic’s Choice Awards to start. Award Season Ya’ll…my guilty pleasure. Anyways, I found this tag on Read At Midnight and thought it seemed interesting so…we’re going to do it!
If you want do this tag as well, make sure you tell me in the comments so I can go and read your answers!
OK! On with the tag!
1) How long have you been a blogger?
I’ve been blogging since February of 2015 but have changed platforms since then. I used to use Blogger, but very recently switched to WordPress and I enjoy it so much more! It started as a hobby in High School and now has turned into a pretty regular thing along with my instagram!
2) At what point do you think you’ll stop blogging?
At the moment I am going to say… I don’t know. Right now it is something that I really enjoy and am now finally getting better at it. My blog has grown more over the past year and I can’t really imagine stopping anytime soon!
3) What is the best thing about blogging?
I would say the ability to just jot down my thoughts and express my opinions with like-minded people. Nobody in my family reads like I do…or at all so it’s hard to talk about books with them. They find it annoying and they usually have no idea what I am talking about, but when I post a review I can talk to a whole community of book lovers and that is so amazing. I am very grateful for that aspect of it!
4) What is the worst thing? What do you do to make it OK?
The slumps. I get into these ruts where I don’t want to do anything! Especially blog. It’s my fault and I could be doing something to rev up the inspiration, but sometimes…it just doesn’t work. If I happen to get into a slump I tend to go back and read my older posts or just do a tag… Wait, am I in a slump?
5) How long does it take you to make/find pictures to use?
I tend to use random google photos, well I am trying not to now as you know…copyright and all that. I am now using more and more of my own photos. A lot of them you can find on my instagram. I would love to make graphics and things, but I am not very good at…so maybe one day, HA.
6) Who is your book crush?
Dorian Havilliard from Throne of Glass.
At least he’s the current one, though Wolf from Lunar Chronicles could challenge him.
7) What author would you like to have on your blog?
As cliche as it sounds, George R.R. Martin.
I JUST HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS.
Not just about who gets the Iron Throne, but the lore and the world building! How did he create the White Walkers, The Wights! What was his thought process on the Three Eyed Raven!
8) What do you wear when you write your blog post?
I basically live in comfy clothes so usually sweat pants and a T-shirt.
9) How long does it take you to prepare?
I rarely do. If I am writing a post for a company or an author/publishing house, I will prepare about a week in advance. But when I am just bored and want to post something, I usually just grab my laptop and start typing.
10) How do you feel about the book blogger community?
Very Positive. I haven’t seen any hate in the book blogger world and hope not to. Everyone is so supportive and kind and I just love it!
11) What do you think one should do to get a successful blog?
Be yourself and INTERACT!
I have found that in order for people to see your blog, you need to see other people’s work as well. If you form friendships then it becomes a lot easier to share ideas and work. Also, if you just write without worrying if your reader will like it, then I find the writing to be better and more genuine!
You got this!
OKAY! That’s it! Remember to tell me in the comments if you answered these as well OR you can write your answers in the comments!
