Have you ever wanted to live in a fictional world?
I have! I found this tag on Goodreads earlier this week. There was a link to a blog called Crazy for YA and I thought it was so cool and I haven’t done anything like this before, so here we go! Basically you just pick characters or settings or even plot lines from your favourite fictional novels! This should be fun! On with the tag!
1) Who would your parents be?
Definitely Sally Jackson and Lord Poseidon from Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan. I love how loving Sally is and how brave she is. Sally is so supported of Percy and even though she fears for him, she never stops him from being who he really is. Then of course who wouldn’t want to have the God of Seas and Earthquakes as a dad? Lord Poseidon is definitely my favourite literature father and my favourite Greek God and I just love the dynamic between him and his son in all of the novels.
2) Who would be your sister?
Lena Duchannes from Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. I haven’t finished the series, but I really enjoyed book one and I love how quirky and “indie” Lena is. She is just so different and fun, yet reserved and serious. I relate to her a lot, besides the whole witch thing. I think we would get along as we share many interests, but I think we would also fight as she seems very strong-willed and stubborn. I think it would also be cool to be sisters with Ridley.
3) Who would be your brother?
Jacob Portman from Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. I just got introduced to this series and Jacob is one of my new favourite literary characters. He is smart, witty, brave, caring, and just overall a strong person. I think that he, Lena, and I would get along very well. Although Jacob would probably think Lena was evil or something and unleash a Hollowgast on her, but I think she would be able to defend herself. I can just imagine the family game nights with those two. I think Jacob would be the eldest so he could protect us. I would end up as the baby, of course.
4) Who would be your pet?
Chairman Meow from The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. Now I think that I am mostly picking him due to his owner…I mean honestly, it’s Magnus Bane. Although I think the little white cat is everything and he is just so cute! I hope that in Shadowhunters Season 2 they add more of the cats!
5) Where would you live?
Again I have to go with PJO and go with Camp Half-Blood. I think it would be so incredible to live in a camp all year round and learn to fight and about mythology. Plus, you get to live with all your brother and sisters. Every time I take one of those “Who is your godly parent” quiz I always get one of three: Apollo, Hermes, or Hades. It would be very interesting to see if I were in Cabin 7, 11, or 13.
6) Where would you go to school?
I mean, is this even a question? HOGWARTS! J.K. Rowling has created a spooky and enchanting place that every kid wants to go to. I don’t care if you don’t…you do. I am a Slytherin, so I would be so excited to go and be considered the darker side of the school… Or even Ilvermorny, the new one. I am a Wampus, so again, it would be amazing. My favourite class would be DATDA and would probably end up getting locked in the Room of Requirement or exploding things as I am a bit of a klutz, perhaps I belong in Hufflepuff…
7) Who would be your best friend?
Patrick from Perks of Being a Wallflower by the amazing Stephen Chbosky. Now you all know how much I freaking love this book and I fell in love with Patrick from the beginning. He is just a light in a novel full of darkness and I just can’t help but think we would get
along so well. Just as he was friends with an introverted boy (Charlie) I think I could be an exception.
8) Who would be your significant other?
This one was a hard one because there are so many amazing people in these books, but I chose my favourite Shadowhunter turned Silent Brother turned Shadowhunter…James (Jem) Carstairs from The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. This violin playing, sword swinging, badass is just the man I need. Also he is very sweet and for a fictional character, very relatable. Now I am not suffering from an involuntary drug addiction, but I get that he is suffering from something he cannot help. I loved Jem’s character from the beginning and hope to see him in the future novels.
