Hello Hello Hello and Goodbye August!
Happy September everyone! Whether you are enjoying some cooler whether, refreshing your wardrobe, or even catching the train back to Hogwarts September has finally come. To me the year always starts with September not January. Well, obviously it won’t be 2016 till January 1st, but that’s besides the point.
September seems like new beginnings to me probably because that is when I would always start a new school year and have to get my life together pretty much. This is the first time in twelve years that I am not going back to school and it feels really weird. In fact it doesn’t even feel like autumn is about to start.
If you live anywhere else besides the dry wasteland that is Southern California the leaves around you will start to change and the mornings a lot cooler. That was my favorite thing as a child. I loved waking up in the mornings and seeing the smoky cascades through my bedroom window and seeing the ground littered in colorful leaves. When I moved to California, it was in October and I was shocked to see that there wasn’t the same environment that there was in the Pacific North West and I truly miss that. We won’t get cold weather till about October or even November so I have to play the waiting game.
This month I am going to try and blog a lot more. I feel more inspired during the changing of the seasons and especially in fall and winter. For example last night I was lying in bed with my laptop writing some more of my book when my cat decided to join me and dug underneath my laptop for just a little love, and It got me thinking. I just got this kitten and I am already ignoring her! That should not be happening. She is still a baby and I feel like I am not giving her enough love. So if you are out there and have cats or dogs, give them some love today, they may need it.
Also since it is new beginnings I am in the process of redoing my bedroom and updating my blog layout. A lot of people tend to do spring cleaning, but I think fall cleaning is much nicer. So I am going to get some new candles, maybe a new throw blanket and paint some walls! I have already built a new headboard which I will show when my room is finished. To be honest it looks like a construction zone at the moment.
Another goal for autumn this year is to read more. I have been somewhat oblivious to the amount of books that I have not read and now that I have a lot more time on my hands I will be reading a lot more, I hope.
Currently I have a lot of laundry and cleaning to get done, so I am going to go, but I hope you all are having a lovely day. Keep in mind that September can be a great month and if you are going to school, don’t worry winter break is only four months away!
