Hello Hello Hello!
So there is only one thing I dislike about winter…getting sick! I have been sick for about four days now and I am so over it! Now since I know what makes me feel better when I am under the weather, I thought I would share it with you guys! Here are my survival tips for when you are stuck in bed or on the couch, or pretty much when you are hiding from people.
(1) Read a Book!
Reading is a great past time! When I am sick I usually like to re-read some of my favorites. “The Fault in our Stars” by John Green is a great book for anybody! For my readers who may not be into the whole teen cancer subject then “The Maze Runner” by James Dashner is for you! If you like the “Divergent” or “Hunger Games” series then you should definitely check this trilogy out. Reading is relaxing and I find that it always makes me feel better.
(2) Keep Your Lips Hydrated!
Worst part about having a cold is the chapped lips! When your sinuses are stuffed up, you have to breathe strictly from your mouth which causes your lips to dry out. Stop it fast with these little tubs of Vaseline that I swear by! The cocoa butter deeply moisturizes your lips and keeps them healthy and crack free. Apply this at night especially! The rosy lips formula provides a light tint for when you need to take that mid afternoon Panera run for some soup. Apply some of this to look healthy with a pop of color!
It is so important to keep hydrated when you are ill. That means you need to be drinking constantly. Water, fruit juices, ginger ale, hot tea, ice tea, etc. will be very good for you. Try to stay away from all dairy. Dairy coats the throat which can cause more problems with all the congestion in your lungs. I am drinking ice water with a green and white tea bag steeping. Green tea is full of antioxidants so drink up!
These tips help me so I only hope that they help you! If you are sick I hope you get better fast and stay healthy!
